A business website is often the first place a potential client meets your company. It works around the clock, answers common questions, and shapes a visitor's first impression of your professionalism before anyone speaks to you. My Geeks LLC provides website development as a business-to-business service: we design, build, improve and maintain websites for companies that want an accurate, reliable and well-structured online presence. This page explains exactly what the service includes, how a project runs from first contact to handover, what is excluded, and how pricing works.
Our website development service covers nine areas. Business website design is the planning of a site's structure, layout, visual style and wording so that it represents your company clearly. Responsive website development means building the site so it works correctly on phones, tablets and desktop computers. Landing page development is the creation of single, focused pages for a specific campaign, offer or service, with one clear call to action. Corporate and multi-page business websites are complete sites with pages for services, company information, contact details and policies. Website redesign is the restructuring and rebuilding of an existing site that has become outdated or no longer reflects the business. Website maintenance keeps software, security settings and content up to date on a monthly basis. Website performance improvements make an existing site load faster and run more smoothly. Basic SEO setup provides the technical foundations search engines need: page titles, descriptions, headings, a sitemap and a clean structure. Finally, contact forms and lead-generation functionality allow visitors to send an enquiry directly from the site.
Every project begins with a discovery conversation. We ask what your business does, who your customers are, what the website must achieve and what it must avoid. We ask which content already exists — text, images, logos, brand colours — and which content still needs to be written or sourced. We ask about any systems the site must connect to, such as a booking tool, a mailing list or a customer relationship management system. Based on that conversation we prepare a written quotation. It lists the pages, the features, the exclusions, the delivery timeframe and the payment terms. You review it, ask questions, and approve it in writing before any work is scheduled. This protects both parties: you know exactly what you are buying, and we know exactly what we are delivering.
The design stage follows. We propose a page structure and a visual direction, present it to you, and refine it based on your feedback within the revision rounds stated in the quotation. We pay particular attention to practical details: how the navigation behaves on a small screen, whether text is easy to read, and whether the most important action on each page — such as requesting a quote or booking a call — is obvious at a glance. Our view is that good business design is clear and unobtrusive. It helps the visitor find what they need quickly and does not distract from your message.
Development follows design. We write clean, standards-based code so that browsers, assistive technologies and search engines can all read the site correctly. We build from the smallest screen upwards, test on real devices, and check that forms submit, links resolve and pages load within a reasonable time on an ordinary connection. Where a site needs a contact form, we build it to validate input properly, deliver each submission reliably to your inbox, and show the visitor a clear confirmation. Where lead generation matters, we help you decide which information to request. Asking for less often produces more enquiries.
Basic SEO setup is part of every website we build, and we are careful about what the term means. It covers the technical groundwork: a descriptive title and meta description for each page, a logical heading structure, readable web addresses, an XML sitemap, a robots file, descriptive text for images and fast loading. It does not include a guarantee about where the site will appear in search results. Rankings depend on competition, content, time and factors that search engines do not publish, and no honest provider can promise a specific position. Businesses that want sustained work on search visibility after launch can engage our separate SEO/SMO service, which is described on its own page.
Website redesign projects follow a slightly different path. An existing site may be slow, difficult to update, insecure, or may describe a business that has since changed. We begin with an audit: what works and should be kept, what is broken, and what the business now needs that the current site does not provide. Where existing pages already attract visitors, we preserve their web addresses or set up redirects so that the redesign does not lose that traffic. We then rebuild in stages, so that your business always has a working website during the transition.
Maintenance and performance work are the ongoing part of website development and the part most often overlooked. Software components need updating. Security certificates expire. Content becomes out of date. Pages that loaded quickly at launch slow down as images and extensions accumulate. Our monthly maintenance service handles these tasks and provides a short written report of what was done. Our performance service addresses sites that have become slow: compressing images, removing unused code, improving how pages are served, and measuring load times before and after so the improvement is visible in numbers rather than taken on trust.
Some items are deliberately excluded from the website development service and are listed as exclusions in every quotation. Domain registration and hosting are usually billed to you directly by the provider, so that your company — not ours — owns those accounts. Paid stock photography, premium fonts and third-party software licences are either quoted separately or supplied by you. Copywriting beyond the agreed scope is additional work. And, as explained above, we do not guarantee search engine positions. If a requirement arises that falls outside the quotation, we will tell you and provide a price for it before the work is carried out.
Ownership is straightforward. When the final invoice is paid, the design, code and content created specifically for your project belong to you. We hand over access to the hosting account, the domain and the site itself, and we show you how to make the everyday content changes you are likely to need. Third-party components keep their own licences, which we identify during handover. We may ask for permission to reference the project in our own marketing, and we will respect your decision if you decline.
Pricing is by written quotation rather than a published price list, because the cost of a website depends on its size, its complexity and how ready your content is. A single landing page with supplied text and images is a very different project from a twenty-page corporate site with a booking system and content still to be written. Projects are billed in two milestones — fifty percent on acceptance of the quotation and fifty percent on completion — unless the quotation states otherwise. Delivery timeframes are stated in the same quotation and depend on the same factors, together with how quickly content and feedback are provided.
If your business needs a new website, an improved one, or ongoing maintenance of an existing one, please request a quote through our Contact page, send us an email, or telephone during business hours. We will ask a few questions, listen carefully, and send you a clear written proposal.
